Robert Shiels Lyttle

Robert was born in 1859 in Maghera, Co. Londonderry, Ireland and his baptism took place on December 11th, 1859 in Maghera Presbyterian Church conducted by minister Rev Thomas Witherow.¹ Robert's father was John Shiels (Maghera) Lyttle and his mother was Elizabeth Marshall Lowry. His maternal grandparents were George Lowry and Sarah Lyttle. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named George, John, Sarah, Jane, Elizabeth, Jane, Anna, Eleanor, Matilda and Mary. He was the second oldest of the eleven children.
