John Alexander Lyttle

John was born on July 25th, 1865 in Maghera, Co. Londonderry, Ireland and his baptism took place on September 25th, 1865 in Maghera Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev Thomas Witherow.¹ John's father was John Shiels (Maghera) Lyttle and his mother was Elizabeth Marshall Lowry. His maternal grandparents were George Lowry and Sarah Lyttle. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named George, Robert, Sarah, Jane, Elizabeth, Jane, Anna, Eleanor, Matilda and Mary. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.
