William was born on February 2nd, 1850 in St. Johnston, Taughboyne Pa., Co. Donegal.1   William's father was Gawn Lowry and his mother was Mary Wilkinson.  His paternal grandparents were Andrew (St. Johnston) Lowry and <Unknown>.  He had a brother named Andrew.  He was the younger of the two children.  He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named William John, David, Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Anne and Eliza Ann.  He died at the age of 14 on February 2nd, 1864 in St. Johnston, Taughboyne Pa., Co. Donegal.2
