Henry was born on January 1st, 1842 in Drumcrow, Taughboyne Parish, Co. Donegal, Ireland.¹

Henry's father was Alexander Lowry and his mother was Sarah Stevenson. His paternal grandparents were Andrew Lowry and Margaret or Mary Rogers; his maternal grandparents were Andrew? Stevenson and Jane Colhoun. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Andrew , John, Alexander, Elizabeth, Martha, Margaret and Sarah. He was the youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 81 on February 2nd, 1923 in Potosi, Waterloo Twsp., Grant Co., WI. His burial was in Van Buren Cemetery.¹

  His obituary says he came in 1859 to Philadelphia where he stayed a few months before moving to Wisconsin. I have only found a Henry immigrating in 1857 with an Elizabeth Lowry at Philadelphia.
  Van Buren Cemetery in Potosi Wisconsin. They are buried in the French plot. Of their children only one son married and he had only a daughter who never married. Thus Henry and Mary Jane Lowrys line came to an end.

  There is a brief mention of an Uncle Henry who lived in Potosi, Wisconsin in theStewart family letters. Dottie was considering living with him to establish residency in order to attend the University there. Great Aunt Margaret was his sister.
  
  James Bolton Stewart visited the Henry Lowry family in 1914.
  
  He was the nephew of Samuel W. Lowry of Potosi according to a book entitled "Our Boys" about the Wisconsin Volunteers in the Civil War.
