George Lowry

George was born about September 1834 in Tullyrap, Taughboyne Pa., Co. Donegal, Ireland and his baptism took place on October 26th, 1834 in Raphoe Cathedral (St. Eunans Ch of I), Raphoe.¹ George's father was George Lowry and his mother was Annie Orr. His paternal grandparents were Andrew Lowry and Elizabeth (Lower Feddyglass) Marshall; his maternal grandparents were Isaac (or James) Orr and <Unknown>. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Andrew and Elizabeth . He died due to Bronchitis - 3 years on November 28th, 1898 in Tollcross, Shettleston, Lanarkshire, Scotland.²

- Both his parents are deceased according to his death cert. He is a groom. PAD, George Lawrie, son, 16 Carntyne St, Shettleston. He is 63 years of age.

General Notes
- He seems to have been working in Nitshill, nr Glasgow when he came back to Ireland and married Sarah Morrison. He is either the son of George Lowry who eventually was in Feddyglass or George Lowry who was in Cavan.

  1881 Scotland Census: George Lowrie, age 39, head, born in Ireland, occupation- groom, Shettleston, Lanarkshire, 8 Back Square. His wife Sarah is dead. His son George is 13, son John is 10 and daughter Jeanie is 8.
  
  1891 Scotland Census: George Lowry, age 48, head, born in Ire., living at 22 Dunlop St. Coal Miner, son John, 21 and daughter, Jeannie, 18 are living with him. John is also a coal miner.
