Gawin was born about 1754 in Feddyglass, Taughboyne Pa., Co. Donegal, Ireland.¹ Gawin's father was Thomas (UpperFeddyglass 1745-83) Lowry (Jr.) and his mother was ???? Alexander. His paternal grandparents were Robert Lowry and <Unknown>. He had a sister named Lowry. He died due to Hanging about April 1783 in Edinburgh, Scotland.¹
