Eliza Jane/Anne Lowry

• Death Notes
  • DoB of 1836 from 1901 census where she gives her age as 65.  That would make her 15 when she got married!

• General Notes
  • Note the overlap between Eliza Jane, daughter of William of Binion,  who married Andrew Rogers in a Civil marriage, an Eliza Anne of Binion who married Andrew Rogers in Taughboyne Parish churcu and Eliza J of Binion who married Samuel Watson in St Johnston Presbyterian church.
    There is and always has been a minor problem with Eliza Jane.  At one time we had her in a different place on the tree and duplicated (triplicated actually!).  This is still evident in the notes under her name which shows that there are three different but similar records which would need to be sorted IF we were sufficiently interested in Binion Lowrys - and IF we could get any coherent answers from the Australian Lowrys.  This is what I wrote on the tree (with numbers added to clarify the three different records that do not quite concur):
    "Note the overlap between
    1. Eliza Jane, daughter of William of Binion, who married Andrew Rogers in a Civil marriage, 2. an Eliza Anne of Binion who married Andrew Rogers in Taughboyne Parish church and 3. Eliza J of Binion who married Samuel Watson in St Johnston Presbyterian church."
    On the strength of what the Aussies told us, we split Eliza Watson/Wason off from the other two and repositioned her with the Binion Lowrys where she is now.  It was the Aussies who told us that James and William were brothers and this suggested two Elizas, cousins, one called Eliza Jane and one called Eliza either Jane or Anne, one married to Andrew Rogers and one to Samuel Watson.  And since Samuel Watson was from Trentamucklagh, then it is quite reasonable that old James died in 1881 in Trentamucklagh in the house of his favourite daughter - my pet theory when we were doing so many death records, if you recall.  And this would account for why there is no James in Tmla in the GV - he wasn't there at all, never mind living in anyone else's house, cause he was living in Binion and not of a mind to die way back in the 1850s!
