Catherine was born on September 29th, 1774 in Broadlea, Raphoe Pa., Co. Donegal, Ireland and her baptism took place in St. Eunans Cathedral, Raphoe, Co. Donegal, Ireland.1   Catherine's father was Robert (Broadlea) Lowry.  She had a brother named James.  She was the older of the two children.
