Anne was born about 1834 in Drumfad, Taughboyne Pa., Co. Donegal, Ireland and her baptism took place on May 11th, 1834 in Taughboyne Parish Church.  Anne's father was Hugh (Drumfad) Lowry and her mother was Catherine Warnock.  Her paternal grandparents were James (Drumfad) Lowry and <Unknown>.  She had three brothers and three sisters, named James, Alexander, Leighton, Eliza Jane, Catherine and Rebecca.  She was the second oldest of the seven children.  She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Robert, Hugh, Margaret and Martha.
