    "Edn 10 Feb 1841 D. at Fiddyglass nr Raphoe Andrew Lowry Esq much and deservedly regretted.  Mr. Lowry was 1st Lt. Of the Taughboyne Rangers, one of the corps of the Irish Volunteers in 1778, and with his men attended the reviews at Glassnaugh and Creggan.  He was the last survivor of the corps. The immense procession which accompanied his remains to St Johnstown testified to the respect in which he was held by all classes of the community in the neighborhood where he resided.     July 20th 1806 - Taughboyne Parish Church Vestry Minutes -"Mr. Andrew Lowry and William Rodgers of Drumcrow in charge of finding illicit stills in that district of Lettergull.
    
    "Edn Tues. 1 March 1808 "Died at Drumcrow Miss Lowry in her 19th year the dau. of  Lt. Lowry"---From the Londonderry Journal and Donegal & Tyrone Advertiser (from Simon)
    
    1810 - AL sells his 1/2 of Drumcrow John Lowry who holds the other half. (Abercorn Rent/Lease) According to an Abercorn Letter dated 19 March 1817 John is Andrews son and he sold out to him when he moved to Pheddyglass and married Alexander Lowry's widow, Elizabeth.
    
    1810 - the name" Andrw" Lowry of Drumcrow seems to be written over by "John" Lowry of Drumcrow as part of a committee set up on 27th April at a meeting of the Taughboyne Vestry, as per the minutes of the same.
    
    1826 TAB - AL holds 60 acres in Feddyglass.

    George Lowry signed a 21 year lease with Abercorn on Jan 31, 1835.  The following note is attached to the Lease:  "Your Honour, Majir Humphers, I am well satisfied that George Lowry should have his name in the Lease of Feddyglass as there is now other person for it but him. [signed] Andrew Lowry, Feddyglass" This comment  - "Delivered by hand.  Please deal with this" and initialled possibly by M Humphries.---Boyd Gray, [2005 PRONI Research]

    (Another researcher says this source says he was 96 years old.)
    
    What does this add up to?
    1. An AL (Taugh Rangers) died in Feddy in 1841.  He must have been born circa 1758 and maybe earlier, if he was in the Rangers in 1778.
    2. An AL sold land in Drumcrow to John Jnr in 1810/11.  If he was John Jnr's bro, as we now suppose, he was born circa 1850. 
    3. An AL held land in Feddy in 1826 and 1835.  If Taugh Rangers AL and Drumcrow AL are one and the same, and TR AL didn't die til 1841, then he should be the AL who held this land in Feddy.
    4. (An AL was the father of Jane Lowry who was born circa 1825, so he was born circa 1790.  This man is too late to be TR AL.)
    How does this look then?  I create an AL beside John Jnr and attribute 1, 2 and 3 above to him?  Are we creating too much on supposition?  Probably, but we have to put them somewhere if we are to remember what we think now.  As long as it doesn't get set in concrete.
    The Strabane Morning Post of 1829 shows an Andrew Lowry of Feddyglass registering a freehold in Carrickbrack.  It seems likely that it was this Andrew, and that he passed this land on to the Andrew of Carrickbrack, the son of his brother, John Lowry of Drumcrow.
    
    Notes for ANDREW LOWRY:
    The 1811-1833 Abercorn Rental Accounts Book shows two tenants at Drumcrow - each with a separate page - Andrew LOWRY (folio 145)and John LOWRY (folio 146).  Andrew Lowry's name is scored out (done at some point after the page was titled).  Andrew LOWRY and John LOWRY are both paying rent of £36.19.4 1/2 on Feb 19, 1811 and on Oct 14, 1811.  These are payments for the previous year of 1810.  Andrew LOWRY'S portion is purchased by John LOWRY sometime between the Oct 1811 payment and Mar 24, 1812 for £600  as John LOWRY  is paying the entire rent on March 24, 1812 of £73.18.9.
