Andrew was born in January 1821 in "of this parish",Taughboyne Pa., Co. Donegal, Ireland and his baptism took place on February 4th, 1821 in Taughboyne Parish Church conducted by Curate Nathan Rogers.¹

Andrew 's father was Alexander Lowry and his mother was Sarah Stevenson. His paternal grandparents were Andrew Lowry and Margaret or Mary Rogers; his maternal grandparents were Andrew? Stevenson and Jane Colhoun. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John, Alexander, Henry, Elizabeth, Martha, Margaret and Sarah. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 73 on March 25th, 1894.

  Civil Registration Record from Dublin shows Andrew died 25th March 1894 at Cooladerry, a bachelor. householder and labourer, aged 70, of "Revolver shot wounds self-inflicted". An inquest was held on 26th March 1894.
