Alexander was born about 1819 and his baptism took place on December 3rd, 1819 in St. Eunans Cathedral, Raphoe, Co. Donegal, Ireland.  Alexander's father was Henry Lowry and his mother was Elizabeth Lowry?.  He was an only child.
