Alexander Lowry

Alexander was born about May 1826 in Lettergull, Taughboyne Pa., Co. Donegal, Ireland and his baptism took place on May 20th, 1826 in Taughboyne Parish Church conducted by Curate Nathan Rogers.¹

Alexander's father was Alexander Lowry and his mother was Sarah Stevenson. His paternal grandparents were Andrew Lowry and Margaret or Mary Rogers; his maternal grandparents were Andrew? Stevenson and Jane Colhoun. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Andrew , John, Henry, Elizabeth, Martha, Margaret and Sarah. He was the third oldest of the eight children.

  This man disappears from all records after his baptism, with one possible exception. An Alexander Lowry is recorded as living in Feddyglass until 1895 according to the GV Revision Books. This might simply be the evaluators being slow to acknowledge the death of the Alexander Lowry who lived there and we believe died in 1873, or it could be we have the wrong Alexander living in Feddyglass, OR, it could be that this Alexander assumed tenancy in Feddyglass after his father, Alexander, died in 1873.
