Matilda Kirkwood

Matilda was born about 1840 in The Grove, Kilrea Parish, Co. Londonderry, Ireland and her baptism took place on January 6th, 1841 in 1st Kilrea Presbyterian Church, Kilrea Pa.. Matilda's father was William Kirkwood and her mother was Nancy Stewart. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Kirkwood and Jane Barber; her maternal grandparents were James Stewart and Betty Fulton. She had two brothers and three sisters, named James, Robert, Eliza, Anne and Maria. She was the second oldest of the six known children.
