Elizabeth was born on June 8th, 1877.

- Elizabeth Hayes - born 8 June 1877, Raphoe, Donegal [Civil Reg: LDS# C007267]. Confirmed by Derry FHC Civil Birth Register. 1901 census gives her as 22 = DoB of 1879.

Elizabeth's father was Thomas Hayes and her mother was Sarah S Lowry. Her maternal grandparents were Alexander Lowry and Sarah Stevenson. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, Alexander, Henry, Sarah, Female and Andrew. She was the seventh oldest of the eight children.
