Matilda was born on August 25th, 1902 in Greenvale, Victoria, Australia.1   Matilda's father was Alexander McKendry Hatty and her mother was Charlotte Lowry.  Her maternal grandparents were John Hamilton Lowry and Jane Matthew.  She had two sisters named Jane and Gladys.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died at the age of 81 on February 10th, 1984 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.1
