William John Gordon

William was born on January 12th, 1840 in Lislea, Kilrea Pa., Co. Londonderry, Ireland and his baptism took place on April 19th, 1840 in 1st Kilrea Presbyterian Church, Kilrea Pa.. William's father was William Gordon and his mother was Elizabeth Stewart. His maternal grandparents were James Stewart and Catherine Stewart. He had three brothers and a sister, named Hugh, Thomas, James and Catherine. He was the third oldest of the five children.
