Aaron was born on February 12th, 1847 in Lislea, Kilrea Pa., Co. Londonderry, Ireland and his baptism took place on March 17th, 1847 in 1st Kilrea Presbyterian Church, Kilrea Pa..1   Aaron's father was Thomas Gamble and his mother was Elizabeth Stewart.  His maternal grandparents were Robert "The Isles" Stewart and Jane McIlfatrick.  He had three brothers and five sisters, named Robert, James, <Unknown>, Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Mary, <Unknown> and Martha.  He was the third oldest of the nine known children.
