Betty Fulton

Betty was born about 1772 in Maghera Pa., Co. Londonderry, Ireland.

Betty's father was James? Fulton. She was an only child. She died in Killymuck Glebe, Tamlaght O'Crilly Parish, Co. Londonderry, Ireland.

- Family history says her name was Mattie Fulton- marriage record of daughter Nancy says Betty Fulton
  
  OTHER FULTONS NEARBY:
  A Jas or Jno FULTON was the only other Fulton recorded in the First Kilrea Presbyterian records other than Betty Fulton. He was a witness to a marriage between Hugh Logan of Macknagh, Parish Maghera and Mary Mellon of Drumnacanon, Parish Tamlaght O'Crilly on 7 April 1828.
  
  The 1828 Tithe Applotment Book for Macknagh does not record any Fultons. There is a John Logan who I believe is related to these Fultons because Jas Fulton was a witness at Hugh Logan's marriage.
  
  I have now looked at the 1831 Census for Macknagh where a James Fulton (Falton) (2m 4f) is recorded living next to Hugh(1m 4f), James (1m 4f) and John (1m 1f)Logans.
  
  No Fultons in Macknagh in 1858 Griffiths.
  
  James Fulton of Macknagh may be of the same generation as Betty Fulton.
  
  A John Fulton of Macknagh/Tirgarvil district is recorded in the Maghera CRB as a first time communicant in 1847 and as leaving for Scotland at some time after 1847. I believe he is the son of James Fulton of Macknagh
  
  There is also a William Fulton in Curragh, Maghera Pa., 1831 Census with 4m 2f. and TAB with 8 acres. He and son Thomas are mentioned in the 1836 OS Memoirs. William and Thomas are gone by the 1858 GV. Jane Fulton is living in a freehold in Curragh.
