James Gray Bolton

James was born on March 16th, 1845 in Lismoyle, Tamlaght O'Crilly Pa., Co. Londonderry, Ireland.¹ James' father was Samuel Bolton and his mother was Mary Gray. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Bolton and Martha Boyd. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, William, John, Hugh Walker, Robert, Henry, Infant and Matilda. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 85 on March 7th, 1931 in Philadelphia,PA. His burial was in West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA.²

  A passport application dated Apr 29, 1910 for him and his wife states this about his immigration from Ireland: "I came to America in May 1866 via Cunard Line arriving in New York City and immediately left for Philadelphia where I have continuously resided ever since..
