Elizabeth was born about 1822 in Lismoyle, Tamlaght O'Crilly Pa., Co. Londonderry, Ireland and her confirmation took place in November 1837 in 1st Kilrea Presbyterian Church, Kilrea Pa..1   Elizabeth's father was Samuel Bolton and her mother was Martha Boyd.  She had three brothers and two sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Samuel, William, James, Nancy, Martha and <Unknown>.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven known children.
