She married John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster, son of Edward III, King of England and Philippe de Hainaut, on 13 May 1359 at Reading Abbey, Reading, Berkshire, England.
She died on 12 September 1369 at age 24 at Bolingbroke Castle, Lincolnshire, England, from the bubonic plague.
She was buried at Old St. Paul's Cathedral, London, England.
She gained the title of Countess of Derby.
