Henry De Courtenay
Henry was born before 1449. Henry's father was Thomas 5th Earl of Devon De Courtenay and his mother was Margaret (Lady) De Beaufort. His paternal grandfather was Hugh (4th Earl of Devon) De Courtenay; his maternal grandparents were John Fairborn Marquis Somerset De Beaufort and Margaret (Lady) De Holand. He had a brother and a sister, named John (7th Earl of Devon) and Joan. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died in May 1466 in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England - Beheaded.General Notes
Henry Courtenay was born before 1449. He was the son of Thomas Courtenay, 5th Earl of Devon and Lady Margaret Beaufort.1 He died on 4 May 1466, executed.
Henry Courtenay lived in Topsham, Devon, England.
He would have succeded to the Earldom in 1461, but for its attainder by the Yorkists; was restored to part of the Devon estates by Edward IV 1461; but continuing to plot on behalf of the Red Rose, was himself arraigned before Edward IV and justices at Salisbury, 4 May 1466, and beheaded with Lord Hungerford on the same day.
