Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Boardman and Hannah Hutchinson; her maternal grandparents were William Billings and Hannah Sterry. She had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Elijah, Hannah, Mary and Eunice. She is the youngest of the six children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Jonas, Joseph and Unis.-
