Robert was born in year 1019 in Shenton, England.1   Robert's father was William D'Eu I and his mother was Leceline de Harcourt.  His paternal grandparents were Duke of Normandy Richard (San Peur, The Fearless) Normandy I and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were  Turchetil de Harcourt and  Adeline de Montfort.  He was the second of three children.  He had two brothers named Pons and William.  He died, at the age of 71 years, on September 8th, 1090.1
