Hedwig was born in year 1100.1   Hedwig's father was Count Dietrich von Formbach II and her mother was Adelheid of Austria.  Her maternal grandparents were  Margrave of Austria Leopold (The Fair) von Brandenburg II and  Judith.  She was an only child.  She died, at the age of 69 years, on February 9th, 1169.1

They had a daughter named Kunigunde.
