Chodoswintha was born in year 0560.1   Chodoswintha's father was Sigbert I Franks and her mother was Brunchilde.  Her paternal grandparents were Chlotar I (The Old) Franks and Radegonde (Ingunde) Thuringian de Ingonde; her maternal grandparents were  Athanagild of the Ostrogoths and  Galswinthe of the Vandals.  She was the second of three children.  She had a brother and a sister, named Childebert and Ingunda.
