Theobald was born in year 1011.1   Theobald's father was Odo de Blois & Champagne and his mother was Irmgard de Auvergne.  His paternal grandparents were Count Odo de Blois I and Bertha de Burgundy; his maternal grandparents were  Count Robert de Auvergne and  Wermengarde de Toulouse.  He was an only child.  He died, at the age of 77 years, in year 1088.1
