Agatha's father was Count Ludwig von Braunschweig and her mother was Gertrude von Egisheim.  Her paternal grandparents were Brunon von Braunschweig II and Gisela of Swabia; her maternal grandparents were  Hugh Nordgau VI and  Heilwig von Dagsburg.  She was the youngest of two children.  She had a brother named Ekbert.  She died in year 1066.1
