Adelaide was born in year 0975 in Alsace, France.1 Adelaide's father was Count of Alsace Gerhard von Hohenburg and her mother was Eva de Luxembourg.  Her paternal grandparents were Count Eberhard von Hohenburg IV and Luitgarde de Treves; her maternal grandparents were  Siegfried de Luxembourg II and  Edith Hedwig de Longwy.  She was an only child.
