Gisela was born in year 1070 in Savoy, France.1   Gisela's father was Count of Burgundy William (The Great) de Macon I and her mother was Stephenie Etienette de Longwy.  Her paternal grandparents were Count Palatine Renaud de Macon I and Adelais of Normandy; her maternal grandparents were  Duke Adalbert of Upper Lorraine II and  Clemence de Foix.  She was the youngest of three children.  She had a brother and a sister, named Raymond and Sibylle.  She died, at the age of 83 years, in year 1153.1

They had two sons and four daughters, named Hard Head, Ermentrude, Sibylle, Alix, Amadeus and Agnes.
