Raynier was born in year 1070.1   Raynier's father was Marquis William de Montferrat and his mother was Otta d'Aglie.  His paternal grandparents were Marquis Otto de Montferrat II and <Unknown>; his.  He was an only child.  He died, at the age of 63 years, in year 1133.1
