Conrad's father was Guillaume de Montferrat VI and his mother was Judith von Brandenburg.  His paternal grandparents were Marquis Raynier de Montferrat and Gisela of Burgundy de Macon; his maternal grandparents were  Margrave of Austria Leopold (The Saint) von Brandenburg III and  Agnes of Germany.  He was the youngest of four children.  He had a brother and two sisters, named Boniface, Beatrix and Alice.
