Gunhild was born in year 0967.1 Gunhild's father was Mieszko Piast of Poland and her mother was Dobravy of Bohemia.  Her paternal grandparents were Duke Ziemomysl of Poland and Gorka of Poland; her maternal grandparents were  Duke Boleslav (The Cruel) of Bohemia I and  Biagota of Stockow.  She was the oldest of two children.  She had a brother named Vladivoj.  She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Eckhard, Boleslav and Adelajda.  She died, at the age of 47 years, in year 1014.1

Forkbeard and Gunhild were married in year 0990.1 They had two sons and five daughters, named Estrid, Nevia, Thyra, Canute, Harold, Gytha and Gunhilda.
