Eldred was born in year 1005.1 Eldred's father was King Ethelred (The Unready) of England II and his mother was Emma Normandy.  His paternal grandparents were Edgar (The Peaceful) of England and Aelfrthryth of Devon; his maternal grandparents were  Duke of Normandy Richard (San Peur, The Fearless) Normandy I and  Gonnor de Crepon.  He was the youngest of two children.  He had a sister named Goda.  He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Ironside and Aelfgifu.
