Alberade was born in year 0930.1 Alberade's father was Giselbert of Hainault and her mother was Gerberga of Saxony.  Her paternal grandparents were Regnier I (Longhals) de Hainault and Hersent France; her maternal grandparents were  Holy Roman Emperor Henry I (The Fowler) of Germany and  Saint Matilda Of Ringleheim.  She was an only child.
