1 Seleucus' father was Antiochus of Syria II and his mother was Berenice Phernophorus of Egypt.  His paternal grandparents were Antiochus I Soter Syria and Stratonice I Macedonia; his maternal grandparents were  Ptolemy II Philadelphus Egypt and  Arsinoe I Thrace.  He was an only child.1
