Ulf was born in year 0962.1 Ulf's father was Thorkils Styrbjornsson and his mother was Sigrid.  His paternal grandparents were Styrbjorn (The Strong) Olafsson and Thyra Haraldsdottir; his.  He was the second of six children.  He had three brothers and two sisters, named Eric, Rollo, Siward, Gytha and Eilaf.  He died, at the age of 65 years, in year 1027.1
