Aleidis was born in 1225 in Netherlands.1   Aleidis' father was Count Floris of Holland IV and her mother was Princess Mechtild of Brabant.  Her paternal grandparents were Count Guillaume of Holland I and Adelheid Von Guelders de Geldern; her maternal grandparents were Duke of Brabant Henry of Germany I and Maud d'Alsace. She had a brother and a sister, named Guillaume and Margaretha.  She died at the age of 59 in 1284 in Valenciennes, Nord, France.1

Aleidis and Jean were married in September 1246 in Frankfort Am Main, Hessen-Nassau, Prussia.2   They had two sons named Jan and Guy.
