Matilda was born on February 7th, 1102 in Winchester, England.1   Matilda's father was King Henry (Beauclerc) England I and her mother was Matilda of Scotland.  Her paternal grandparents were William (The Conqueror) de Normandie and Matilda (Maud) of Flanders; her maternal grandparents were Malcolm (Longneck) Caenmoe Dunkeld of Scotland III and Margaret Atheling of Scotland. She had two sisters named Elizabeth and Adelaide.  She was the second oldest of the three children. She had four half-brothers and eleven half-sisters, named The Consul, Henry, Reginald, William, Maud, Sibyl, Elizabeth, Constance, Gundred, Alice, Constance, Matilda, Isabel, Emma and Alice.  She died at the age of 67 on September 10th, 1169 in Notre Dame, Rouen, Seine-Martime, France.2
