Alan was born in 1204 in Multon, Lincolnshire, England.1 Alan's father was Baron Thomas de Multon II and his mother was Sarah de Flete. His paternal grandparents were Sir Thomas de Multon and Eleanor de Boston; his maternal grandparents were Richard de Flete and Juliana. He had a brother and a sister, named Lambert and Margaret. He was the youngest of the three children. He had a half-brother named Thomas.-
