Philip, known as Crusader, was born in 1073 in Bramber, Sussex, England.1   Crusader's father was Sir William de Braose I and his mother was Agnes St. Clair.  His paternal grandparents were Robert le Brus I and Emma de Brittany; his maternal grandparents were Walderne de St. Clair and Helen (Le Bon) de Normandy. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Adam, John, Hortense, Matilda, Amicia and Philena.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named William, Robert and Agatha.  He died at the age of 61 in 1134 in Holy Land, Palestine.1
