Einudd was born in 1020 in Dyffryn, Clwyd, Wales.1   Einudd's father was Gwernwy ap Gwrgeneu and his mother was Gwenllian verch Rhys.  His paternal grandparents were Morgan Gwerngwy ap Eystan and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Rhys ap Marchan and <Unknown>.  He was an only child.
