Uchtred, known as The Bold, was born about 0989 in Northumberland, England.1   The Bold's father was Earl of Northumbria Waltheof and his mother was Elfeda.  His paternal grandparents were High Reeve de Bamburgh Osulf and <Unknown>. He had two brothers named Ecgfrith and Eadulf I.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died in 1018.2

The Bold and Aelfgifu were married about 0991 in England.1   They had two sons and a daughter, named Aeldred, Ealdulf and Ealdgyth.
