Ivo was born in 1036 in Yorkshire, England.¹ Ivo's father was Richard FitzGerold de Roumare and his mother was Beatrice de Taillebois. His paternal grandparents were Lord of Tancarville Gerold de Roumare and <Unknown>. He had a brother named Gerold. He was the younger of the two children.
