Thomas (The Observer) De Berkeley

Thomas, known as The Observer, was born in 1170 in Berkeley Castle, Berkeley, Gloucestershire, England.¹ The Observer's father was Robert (The Devout) FitzHarding and his mother was Eve FitzEstmond. His paternal grandparents were Harding (Son of Alnod) Prince of Denmark and Livida de Berkeley; his maternal grandparents were Estmond of Mercia and Godgifu of Coventry. He had a brother and three sisters, named Maurice, Helen, Alice and Margaret. He was the youngest of the five children.
