George was born about 1585 in Delf-House, Blurton, Staffordshire, England.1   George's father was Bartholomew Colclough and his mother was Elizabeth Madely.  His paternal grandparents were Matthew Colclough and Margaret Bennet.  He was an only child.  He died in 1638.1

They had four sons and a daughter, named Reginald, Adam, George, Thomas and Ann.
