Malcolm, known as Longneck, was born in 1031 in Atholl, Perthshire, Scotland.1  Longneck's father was King of Scotland Duncan (The Gracious) Alpin of Scots I and his mother was Sybil Biornsson.  His paternal grandparents were Abbot of Dunkeld Crinan Atholl and Bethoc of Scotland; his maternal grandparents were Jarl of Denmark Bjorn Ulfiusson and <Unknown>. He had two brothers and a sister, named Donald, Melmare and Margaret.  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 62 on November 13th, 1093 in Alnwick, Northumberland, England.1

Longneck and Margaret were married.  They had six sons and two daughters, named Ethelred, Edgar, The Fierce, The Saint, Edward, Edmund, Matilda and Mary.

They had a son named Heth.
