Hugh was born in 1660.1   Hugh's father was Hugh Brent and his mother was Mary Acherson.  His paternal grandparents were Hugh Brent and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were William Acherson and <Unknown>. He had three sisters named Joane, Elizabeth and Martha.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 56 on June 14th, 1716.1

They had four sons and a daughter, named Hugh, William, George, Charles and Mary.
