William Akin 
William was born in 1839 in Redwater, Bowie Co, Texas, USA. William's father was Collin McKinney Akin and his mother was Lucinda J Watson. His paternal grandparents were William (Bill) Collin Akin and Rebecca (Becky) McKinney. He had two brothers and three sisters, named David, John Watson, Martha Jane, Mary Jane and Nancy Ann. He was the third youngest of the six children. He had five half-brothers and four half-sisters, named James Franklin, Collin McKinney, William C, Robert Jackson, Richard, Mattie, Rebecca Elizabeth, Emma and Ellie.-
